This time, I promise not to be so vain…
I want to feel your love, hold me close.
If you do, I promise to never let go again.
“I love you.”
Those few words destroyed it all.
I let my heart pour out but that’s what I chose.
Those few words made me fall.
It’s more than a struggle to just live…
You never cared and it shows.
I gave you more than all the love to give.
A waste of what? That never escaped my lips…
“That’s just the way it goes.”
I say that over and over as my heart rips…
Rip me into shreds, rip me into pieces.
Pulverize my heart until bright red it glows…
This love I have for you, it never ceases.
It’s so intoxicating, you are to me.
Every time I close my eyes, this love grows…
Because it’s only that in me, you can set me free.
I can wait patiently for you, as I’ve been doing and done.
My true love…I’m waiting, my beautiful rose.
