I would argue that the whole concept of the corporation is evil. Its very design is to displace almost all sense of responsibility: both personal and social within the construct of the corporate structure. It's a partial myth the corporation is seen as a living entity, however, many lawyers have taken the one Dodge vs Ford motor company (1919) ruling as gospel. Having a non entity burden almost all responsibility has, at least sub consciously, driven behavior to further remove any responsibility.
My fathers lawyer has observed in his 30 years of legal practice, that law is designed, and always has been designed, to protect finical interests, not individuals.
One suggestion on copyright laws is to totally chuck all of them and start over. From a new starting point, copyright laws should protect the LIVING artist for their lifetime. Once the original artist has died, so have the rights to said creation.

As someone that creates copyright material, and hopes to make a modest retirement living from it--as well as leave a legacy to my children,(which would include you), I submit that quite the opposite might be true. Copyright laws protected creators original material for their financial benefit, true enough; in a time when print dominated the landscape. Computers were science fiction and music was sold in sheets for the piano in the parlor

Exactly the point, Bob. The technology we have today is diametrically opposed to the current state of copyright. Look at the Kindle or any other e-reader -- when you buy a book on Kindle, you're not buying the book. You're buying the right to read it, which could be revoked at any time. To insist on our current copyright paradigm in the face of modern technology is like to insist on horse and buggy laws on airport runways
