Jack Brown, my grandfather (Opa, as I call him), is 93 (94 in November). He fell and broke his hip a few days ago. He underwent hip replacement surgery today, and there were complications -- his blood pressure is low, enlarged heart, etc. He is thankfully not in pain right now, and pretty lucid (in spite of the pain medication). Joseph "Jocko" Krucek passed away on Sunday. He was a good man with his heart in the right place. He was always ready with a wholly inappropriate joke, and a friendly smile and hug. I'll miss him, though no where near as much as I know my wife and her sisters will.

Goodbye, Jocko. You'll be missed.

My wife's father has had some serious health issues for several years now, and to be honest, it's been a miracle he's lasted as long as he has. A week and a half ago, he had a serious heart attack and has been in the hospital since.
