i almost want to hysterically cry. i got into reading old livejournal entries. i'm terrified now. i've lost my personality. i have none now. i'm jaded. i'm fucking jaded! exactly like i never wanted to be! it's like garden state. fuck ( Read more... )

that post seemed like a party. where the hell was I!? It seems like we're the only two who post to Livejournal now. Isnt part of growing older accepting the changes that come with life? Also, doesnt that mean we all knew things wernt going to be like they were in 04 and 05 anyway? Im not trying to be cynical or anything, but i saw this coming. Keep your head up though, because, at least for me, all the friendship's i've formed during that time exists on my end still, i think its like that for most of us. Time gets in our way, but i dont see anyone ending friendships because of it. Maybe like in garden state you need to go home to find yourself, except in this incarnation of the story "home" is a metaphor for old friendships.

oh the sobering words of perry scinta. well i'm glad you feel that way about me pj. i feel that way about all my friends as well but i ask myself sometimes.... do we all just tell each other that to mask our discomfort with having grown apart? i mean... what would make you more upset? if i died or if someone you hang out with every day died?

but you really are right about the practical uselessness of nostalgia. it's a disease really. it gets worse with age. like the gout.
