ALICE IN WONDERLAND.

I saw Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND last night.  It was amazing!  Crispin Glover's role was much larger than I'd been led to believe, so that was a very pleasant surprise.

My favorite Crispin line was:  "I like you.  I like... largeness."

Haha, I loved that too! I also thought Crispin would have a smaller part. I also thought he might sort of phone it in for some reason because it's kind of a kooky role - I don't know why I ever doubted him. He did a lot more with the character than I expected he would.

The movie's doing pretty well so far, so congrats to him. :)

You know, I had expected him to phone it in, too, as you said. But I thought he might do that because I know he sometimes plays roles in order to finance his personal work (WHAT IS IT? etc). I thought, because ALICE IN WONDERLAND is more of a big-budget film, he may have just done it for the money.

However, I now think that the precise fact that his role WAS such a kooky and weird character, is probably why he seemed to put a lot into the characterization.

Crispin was the best part of that movie. I loved what he put into it, the way whenever he tries to seem threatening it fails so perfectly...but god, he was attractive and weird.

I loved that line. That was fantastic.

Yes, I would estimate that he has almost as much screen time as Johnny Depp, actually. That's a rough estimate, but yeah, Crispin's character is one of the main characters.

I actually thought he didn't get enough! I was expecting... well, as much as I got, but I had read the script, and his scenes were originally a tad longer (and an itsy bit different in a couple places).

Ah, okay. I had not seen the original script or anything. I had just read something saying it was a small role, so I was expecting less Crispin.
