... And not because Obama won.   Frankly, I didn't much care who won.  Our choice was an ass versus a weasel.  You can decide for yourself who is who, but that's not my point

He became President-Elect when McCain conceded - it had nothing to do with CNN. CNN had a disclaimer that their 'breaking news' was all based on projections - they didn't declare the winner - they declared their projected winner.

I still think the media should be prevented from covering the election until it's over, but that's just me. They (as a whole) like to pull dirty tricks, like projecting landslide victories in the hopes of swaying an election.

Oh, I'm not blaming CNN... they were simply reporting on the Electoral numbers that had been sent from the states that had finished their tally. It's not CNN, it's the Electoral College I have issues with.

I agree with that. The electoral college needs to be done away with - I also think we should move to a more European voting system - as in two days to vote done over a weekend. The Tuesday thing is outdated by well over a Century - voting was originally on a Tuesday because you had to travel on Monday to reach the county seat, voted Tuesday and traveled home on Weds.
