I'd be surprised if Americans paid attention to a Chinese equivalent of this at all. I don't think most Americans wouldn't find a school shooting in China newsworthy, sadly.

Also, I don't know if I'd say the murderer wasn't an American, Natalie. He grew up in N. Virginia, been there since he was nine or eight I think. First generation definitely, but he was a legal resident and had been here for the majority of his life. I'd call that American, but maybe that's my personal definition.
