[When she had the time, Anew would take the chance to look from her window to the night sky, but this time she decided to take a walk by herself into the quiet city, admiring the ancient looking buildings and enjoying the quiet atmosphere.

It was funny, seeing the stars from the earth didn't feel the same a doing it in space. And that feeling also ( Read more... )

I have never tried wishing on a star so I can’t say if it works or not, but it is a romantic idea.
What would you be wishing for? Are you allowed to say or will that prevent it from coming true?

[Ro-romantic?] I-I though that as well

[The other question makes her blush even more, but she can give a small hint]

..I'm wishing to see someone [A special someone]

[Oh, so is actually is a romantic idea! He just thought it was a charming tradition. ]

It must be some one very important to you.
[A smile as she blushes. Yes, he noticed that.]

I hope your wish comes true.

[Her tries to fight back a excited smile, but it's useless]

Yes...he's from home

[O-oh. This hits a little to home. She answers this with slight apprehension.]

Wasn't it... shooting stars though?

[Anew remains in a stunned silence for a moment or two]

I ..[She clears her throat in order to regain her compossure] you seem pretty sure...

Pretty sure? Of course I'm sure. I'm always sure, and I have to be sure. Otherwise, what's the point?

[A pause.]

Anyways, shams like that don't work. Won't have, and never will.

[Anew just looks sad.

She hasn't lost her hope, not yet. Instead she feels pity at the lack of faith that she can hear in this man's voice]

Generally, no. I think there's a few stars that are sort of tied to beings that might be able to grant wishes, but just wishing at the stars wouldn't be a very reliable way to get their attention.

[It might have been an idle question, but Harry's now in magic-geek mode and giving a very srs-bzns answer.]

Besides, the types of spirits that would directly interact with the mortal world that easily probably aren't the sort of things you'd want to ask for things anyway.

A spirit can be tied to a star? do you know how that works?

[Anew becomes a little unsure about her wishing idea after hearing the last part, but she wants to be 100% sure about things before deciding anything

After all, not being sure of her own feelings was what got her killed in the first place]

What would happen if I ask to those type of beings?

Mostly through common belief, I'd think. Same as any symbol getting tied to a specific being. Could also be done with a big ritual, though I'm not sure why someone would spend that much time and effort on a star.

Best case scenario? They'd give you what you wanted at a really heavy cost, or manage to poison it somehow. Sort of a "Monkey's Paw" type of thing. Worst case? They're mad about getting woken up by a squishy mortal-type.

[She gets the general idea, even if she doesn't know what a Monkey's paw is, but..]

I wouldn't be so bad to have to pay something, right? [ What she means is:

I would give them anything]

Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't, aru.

[Well..that's a small confirmation]

Does it work with a specific type of wish or is it ramdom?

From my experience, it is usually random, aru. One cannot force the stars to obey their will, after all.

Ah..that makes sense [But then again she was forced against her will once]

Maybe if I ask them nicely they can be more willing, right?
