i used to be so addicted to angst. now i cannot even watch a decent film, because all of the decent ones appear to be depressive. Lynch? no, thanks, i'll pass. von Trier? you've got to be kidding ( Read more... )

Cartoons aren't all stupid. XD And yes, I read a lot of children's books too XD
reality is too depressing as it is to experience the same shit in books and films. That! Actually I still like angst but not when it's too close to RL problems. F.ex. no way in hell would I watch a movie about epic RL diseases like cancer, AIDS or Alzheimers. I'd rather not watch about war unless it's like LOTR or Star Wars, or domestic abuse, or very realistic drug addiction, etc. I just know I'd be mega-depressed afterwards.

nah, I meant it like both cartoons AND stupidity XD like, every other Hollywood movie nowadays XD I only download idiotic films and then wonder why I cannot watch them XDD apparently they're too stupid, after all XDD
yep, it shouldn't be too close to what can happen irl. I like wanky angst over nothing (as in 'I am a generally healthy white male with a happy loving (and living) family, AND I SO STRUGGLE TO FIND MY PLACE IN THIS WORLD BAWW'), not angst for a good reason--that would be too tragic for my taste XDD that's my new policy after the Hunger games. it was too close to Ukraine and Volgograd.

Ah, yes))) I either watch stupidity or safe stuff (like, idk, Jane Austen-based movies XDDDD). So far I haven't made myself watch Third Star f.ex. b/c dying dude, I'm gonna cryyyyyy(((
I'm fine with Hunger Games b/c it's still more like a fantasy for me.

I used to like smth like that once in a while (not too often), b/c I've always thought that any emotion is beneficial. if you don't feel anything b/c of the story, the story is useless. but now I'm done. Dean, I can't. (c)
I read the 3rd volume first after the films, and I honestly didn't expect it to be THIS dark and bloody. the Avoxes. the revolutionary leaders full of shit. Katniss who's always tried to save her loved ones, not even thinking of a rebellion. she was scared, but she didn't have choice--and she ended up watching her sister burn in flames. I'm scarred for life =___=
