Ugh, this is exactly why I don't like arguing. Most people don't listen, they're just so set in their opinions that they can't even think about changing them - or that they mind need to change. It's kind of like those people who justify their homophobia by quoting Leviticus and when you give them hard facts that the Bible says a lot of shit we don't actually follow today, they pretend to be deaf. It's sad and I acknowledge the lack of patience in me as a flaw but I have no idea how one even talks to such people, much less makes them change their minds. :( And then they say I am a hater and don't respect them. I really wonder if there's anything there to respect I'd say there isn't XD
I can't say I don't like arguing. I really do, but only when it's the right and fruitful kind of arguing. What I described is not arguing, it's banging your head against the brick wall. Kind of a different story, imo D:
I think with those people mind changing either doesn't happen, or it is triggered with some real life situations. Lama Ole Nydahl said that evolution always happens outside of your comfort zone, and I think he was right. It's nice to sit in your comfy little world and condemn other people, but when you actually see the consequences, most people will break. Others are clearly nutcases in need of a psychiatrist.
