i always liked how you're able to get a naturally painted look to your digitally painted pieces. how do you get that sort of water color texture for the colors and the floral wall paper as well?

thank you, actually I use a simple scan of the cardboard backing of a watercolor packet. It's placed above with the layer option overlay because then it will white the texture inside the white of the layers below it.

I love love love how totemic the cat looks. Background pattern is v. elegant, too, which is a nice bonus.

thank you, I'm sorry, what is "totemic"? Is it another character that it reminds you of? I was just inspired by a football for a head.

It looks like a totem head is what I should have probably said? I very much love the combination of the conical body and large, stylized head.

Oh yes! Yes! Yeah, I was actually in my sketches thinking of a Totem pole's stylized faces and how he looms over. Thanks for noticing that.

Even with the heavy stylisation the cat still has a very recognisable pissed off cat expression. Which makes me smile every time.
