Please vote! I had to get up at O'Dark hundred, scrape ice of the 23 degree car, and drive the wrong way from work. But I have to say, it was moving, even this year, to hear the official throw open the door of the polling place and shout into the darkness, "Hear Ye, Hear Ye, The polls are now open!!"

Hearing it will cost me yawning all day, but it is really interesting that they do that. I assume they do it everywhere but not sure.

Did some searching, it appears to have been done since the first days of our union. I saw some discussion about stopping it but it looks like everyone still does it.
