so amazingly pretty cranes in bottle. I've wanted to do something similar for a long time. It's nice to see how pretty it would be.

wine question anonymous September 12 2005, 13:33:13 UTC
Hi, i was just poking around and I am curious...

what are the names of the three best kinds of plum wine? i cannot read japanese but i can enjoy plum wine.

if you are feeling particularly industrious you could list them all but i'd be happy with just the top three...

thank you in advance...

This is Nick Kohler, who you met a few years back in Tokyo, of the Kohlers that go way back with the Doyles. Could you send me an email? nicohina-at-yahoo.com.

hey a friend of mine whose part japanese, when she got married she decided to adhere to a tradition. (wether it's completely true i have no idea) the tradition is that the bride folds a thousand paper cranes before her wedding day. i think she said it was for good luck?

The legend goes that if you fold 1000 paper cranes you get a wish. Most people donate their cranes to the Hiroshima or Nagasaki Ground Zero Memorials in a wish for peace on earth, following the tradition of a little girl who died of her injuries after the bombings. People also make cranes to wish for other things (the tradition pre-dates the war), and I've heard of the marriage-cranes before. I believe the bride is supposed to use her wish to bless her marriage, and that her girlfriends can help her complete the 1000 cranes.
