Birding Florida

Florida is fantastic for spring break. Of course, we avoided the classic spots- beaches full of drunken students with bikinis and body boards covered in white sand. Our trip was the real Florida, with swamps and gators, back country boats, and oh so many beautiful birds ( Read more... )

:) Just go to Yoyogi park- there's a birdwatching area there that I am fond of. You'll likely see several species of tit, and often woodpeckers. Enjoy!

And as for the bird, well, Jays are pretty friendly to begin with, and I had raw peanuts with me. They're very bright- you negotiate with them about the peanuts using a few gestures of goodwill, and they come right to you :).
