I know the mods have made a statement about using lj-cuts when posting questionable material, but you may want to consider that many of us use the RSS feed for this community since we aren't regular LJ users...and the lj-cut tag doesn't work for anyone unless they view the entry from LJ. Also, viewing the cut is only an option. I know many users ( Read more... )

Now I remember why I stopped reading at LJ.

When does it end? When does the whining stop and the crocheting get back to "normal"? If you (OP!) don't like the way things are done, LEAVE... there's nothing on the community page that says this is a democracy, right? I doubt huaman would have the time/energy/desire to deal with this again, and I don't think she should have to. Be adult, make your own decisions, don't force someone else onto your views.

My proposal to the OP is either change the way you view the website, or just don't view it. I mean, whining about it doesn't offer a solution to the problem, so if you can't offer a solution that compromises what was already compromised, then don't complain.

I swear, baby jesus must be weeping.

It honestly isn't that hard to actually go to the entry if you just want to see the cut. If those who read the rss feed have a problem, they don't need to make us regular users sacrifice. Go to a different online crochet community then!

I appreciate that they cut the offensive material because I wouldn't like having a dildo cozy gracing my friend's page.

Your post didn't make any real sense, because the majority of 'cut' posts aren't even offensive. Plus, you start your post sounding like you hate it when people cut things, then you end it with a counter statement making me think you are pro-cutting.
What's your real agrument here?

I believe the argument is that they object to the content at all, even under a cut.

Dear LORD. Knitting Community has simply always had a cut policy and it's not terribly hard to follow. Are crocheters so simple that this is soooooo difficult?

I think it's fiber arts drama frenzy or something.

All fiber artists need there little bit of drama every now and then. Yes, the knitters didn't have the lj cut thing to apeshit over. But a while back there was the god's pubic hair thing.

It'll pass.

Just some people need to get stupid and let their drama out every now and then.
