One more thing before I go quiet. Recently (ok not so but I'm finally getting around to watching them) Timberwolf loaned me some movies.
I finally watched Dersu Uzala. Wow!! Kurosawa directed and wrote the screenplay, it won an academy award in '75 and for good reason. I typed out a couple of paragraphs about what I thought was great about the ( Read more... )

Oh cool! Someone else has actually seen this movie! Seriously, I liked it - it was really the first time I was particularly conscious of some things. And it's been ages, I should watch it again.

I haven't seen Harold and Maude.

It's been so long that the big thing that stuck with me was the unusual topic - the idea of 'outsider brought into familiar civilisation' is pretty familiar, but the context was so unique, this whole huge section of the world that pretty much nobody ever seems to talk about.

It is my favorite movie of all time. There are only two movies I've seen sofar that I think everyone needs to see. That is Harold and Maude and Baraka. :>

Heya! Actually I've not gone quiet I am actually quite posty but 99% of them are friends only to keep from broadcasting to the world.

Thank you! If I ever pay for the icons again Ive' got 100... cause I'm pathetic.

Also if you didn't know.. eh.. hyaenidae is actually an artistic project started by me to see if I can do artsy things. Most friends don't know about it tho or don't care... hence the low amount of crossposting. I also don't out and out say we're the same. I feel it's ok doing it this far back cause they'll never read it XD
