[The video was clear, though none it showed seemed to be aware it was recording. In that room on the 32nd floor of the Fuyuki Hyatt, a familiar knight in green and black knelt respectfully before his
Master, gold eyes downcast.]
Are you that happy to fight with Saber? To the point of not being able to bring yourself to finish her off? [The magus's voice was haughty and cold, an obvious sneer on his face as he spoke with a clear note of anger.]
...I'm honestly very sorry, Master. [Lancer apologized with absolute sincerity, not daring to look up at his Master's enraged face.] I swear on my reputation as a knight: I will bring you Saber's head. Please believe me, no matter what.
There's no need to swear to me again! That is only the natural result! You already swore to me. That you would bring me, Kayneth El-Melloi, the Holy Grail! In other words, you will destroy the six other Servants; they mean to do the same thing. This is the entire battle's premise. But what you are saying now..is that oath aimed at victory against Saber alone? This falls far short of the agreement at the start. What's wrong with you?
[Enduring his Master's rage without a single word, Lancer found himself wondering if something was wrong with him. hearing word of a corrupted Grail and saying nothing, witnessing a vision of this very same man ordering him to commit suicide...something within him was wavering. Not his loyalty, never--but his trust in his Master was shaken.]
I think you're the one that has something wrong with him, Kayneth El-Melloi.
[A third voice, that of a young red-haired
woman who walked to Lancer's side with all the air of nobility. The redhead began to
berate Kayneth, speaking of Lancer's Noble Phantasms and generally cutting down the haughty magus with nothing but her words. As the two spoke, Lancer said and did absolutely nothing as if waiting for his Master's indication to speak.]
So before you blame Lancer, you should first do some self-reflection. Kayneth, tonight you--
Sola-sama, please stop here. [The knight had finally looked up, determination in his eyes as he stared directly at Sola.] If you continue to humiliate my Master, then as a knight I cannot tolerate it any longer.
No, that wasn't my intent... I apologize. I crossed the line.
[The woman had until that moment held all the grace and dignity of a queen, and yet at two sentences from Lancer she looked away in shame with an apology. There was a strangely tense moment in the room; Kayneth's eyes narrowed dangerously at his Servant as though he was suspicious of something.]
[Before anyone could speak further, there was a shrill sound--the fire alarm. Kayneth picked up the phone that had rung at the same moment, and upon hanging it up moments later turned to Sola.
It seems like there's a fire somewhere downstairs; the management is telling us to evacuate.
[It was at that point the video cut out. But within a matter of minutes, there were a few last notes of chaos to punctuate the broadcast: an explosion, rending metal, crumbling concrete, splintering wood.]
[The sounds of an entire hotel collapsing.]
