While I am of the firm belief that everyone in the nation should have health care based partly on the United We Stand bit, I totally agree with you on this.

The medical system is fucking ridiculous. From insanely high costs (my dad's brain surgery was over $100,000, but was really just a doctor drilling two holes in his skull with a makita drill), to HMOs deciding patient care rather than the doctors, to hideously large malpractice claims, to BS drug costs... There is so much wrong with the medical system that it would be easier to just rip it apart and build a new one than it would be to fix what ails it. What do you do when almost every facet of a system is wrong? You get a new one.

Then, under the new health system, with the vastly lower premiums, basic healthcare for everyone becomes both easy and cheap.
