So far I've lost 9 pounds since I got back on Tuesday. My back and chest ache terribly. My head hurts. I feel like if I do one more pushup I'm going to collapse. I've rarely been more miserable physically. And I'm going to keep doing it, every day, until I get rid of all those fucking pounds, horrible shit I did to myself, war wounds of late- ( Read more... )

I can't decide whether I'd feel good or bad about my constant verbal abuse contributing to this. Probably good. I'm a big proponent of peer pressure contributing to positive social change.

Next up, making Alex horribly ashamed of himself. Well, moreso anyway.

Naw, we could always try and tackle Rob's alcoholism or Kevin's womanizing first.

lol... I must say I start to portray what others want to see, generally. I'm proud to say I'm not a womanizer though. I've never cheated on a girl ever.

The first thing any guy thinks when he looks at a girl is whether he'd do her or not, and if she's hot what is so damn bangin'. Girlfriend or no girlfriend - it's what's programmed into every guy's brain. People are just surprised because I vocalize this and I have low standards. I act on pretty much nothing. I've never fondled another girl, kissed another girl, etc while in an exclusive relationship.

Can we use peer pressure to stop him from ever using the word "bangin'?"

We need to videotape Kevin while he's drunk. No, you've never cheated on anybody but you can be pretty depraved. Like, REALLY.

This isn't fair, what's my neurosis? Being an asshole?

Most of that nine pounds was the initial 4-5 pound drop just from a change in eating habits. The plan is, 5 pounds a week, which I don't think is unreasonable. I too was about 250 at one point and dropped about 60 pounds without exercise with what Alex has referred to as the "Slim Jim diet." I'm just modifying a proven technique by adding exercise to build muscle while slimming. The first few days are always the worst...but I'd be interested to know the exact routine you used that worked for you.

5 pounds from changing eating habits alone in one week is unhealthy man, as is losing 5 pounds a week. That falls into the category of crash dieting (anything over 1.5-2 is the number per week I believe) which takes a heavy toll on your body. Some of the side effects include slowing/wrecking your metabolism, putting strain on your heart, thinning hair and skin problems, general depression and messing with your immune system. Just because pounds are coming off doesn't mean it's totally positive ( ... )

Eventually I was doing 2-2.5 hours of weight training on one day and running the other, rarely taking days off. I was miserable but its what I thought was right. I went up in my Comm class to make a speech, and people were making fun of my for how skinny I was... it was a huge compliment on the inside and only made me want to lose more weight, especially as I still saw my tummy as being disgustingly fat (and still do to this day). It was especially good as in the yearbook, I was still "Heavy Kevy" -- the nickname my friends gave me in Junior Year (and my intramural jersey name) - and everyone would talk about how different I looked ( ... )
