L was in something of a reverie; to him, the superbowl was exciting for one reason alone: Kurenai had huge amounts of junk food on hand. More than usual. He had been happily munching on m&ms when Sasori appeared, handling the empty bowl roughly and making a fair amount of noise. Naturally, L just about jumped out of his skin, but due to the medication he was on, he fortunately didn't go into catatonic, sensory-overload shock.
He took a deep breath, staring at the m&ms that had clattered to the floor from his hand. He didn't know what to say... or which of them should apologize, if one was due. He hopes that the sound of the candy falling wasn't enough to bring Kurenai running; she seemed to be enjoying the game a great deal.
The redhead paused and turned over his shoulder at the sudden noise. Within half a second, he had made various connections in his mind - this was the shut-in, the suspicious one, the one Kurenai was so protective of when he seemed perfectly able to care for himself.
On the outside, however, there was no break between him looking over his shoulder, and Sasori leaping into an apologetic state. "Ah, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry...!" He turned his entire body toward L and bowed repeatedly. He was especially careful to show that there was a hint of his original Japanese accent still there.
Tilting his head up from his bowed position, he smiled and cheerful smile and said, "I'm... Sasori." His brown eyes didn't give anything on the outside other than a polite air. His face was utterly controlled.
L narrowed his eyes very, very slightly. He had known that Sasori would be coming, but he'd had no idea that he would actually get the chance to confront him. Not that it would do the wiry, socially inept young man any good, the way things were. He was Ryuzaki, for all intents and purposes, and hearing that name would mean nothing to someone as innocently ignorant as Kurenai's ward.
"It is nice to meet you," he said, in his usual forced way, his finger latching onto his lower lip and staying there. "My name is Ryuzaki." there were other little parts of introductions that came with Japanese... Hajimemashite, douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!... but really, aside from being partially of Japanese descent, what could someone like L know of the etiquette-centric culture

Rubbing his finger into the corner of his eye idly, Sasori observed the person before him, even as he himself was observed. From the way "Ryuzaki" was slouched, they were around the same height, it seemed
