What are you doing?

I find myself sitting on the ferry for the second to last time in a while. Not saying I will miss it, but I wonder if Christina’s parents will miss having me around. I know they’ll miss Christina - but I generally remain fairly invisible at her house when I am there (well, that might not be 100% true… nobody is invisible, only God is invisible ( Read more... )

Oddly enough steve, i don't check many blogs, but i usually make sure to check yours. Your writing ability must have something to do with that... assuming i have normal levels of good taste.

Matthew.

ack! Thought I should say that it sucks you didn't play, I'm sort of glad that we didn't miss anything -- well, aside from Hanna's stuff..

was the art pretty good for the most part or was it one of those "i think i did this project in high school" shows?

steve, you're great. i like the way you think. you have such interesting perspective and quickness of wit (which both makes you really funny and have quite good points). i was on the ferry lastnight. my favourite thing to do on the ferry (mainly at night) is to go outside to the very front of the boat, in the windiest spot, and let the wind play with my hair. it always feels like the Lord rubbing my head. and then i look out the the sea, the sky, the stars, the moon. it's all so peaceful and serene. sometimes i like to talk to strangers. you meet people like that, on the ferry, who really do like to meet people and will engage in conversation with anyone they think will listen. i like that. i like to listen.
but yeah, the ferry bothers me too, generally. and people bother me, too. and, honestly, it would have been nice of your folks to trade you their tv.
other than that, ya good? everything going well? you and christina are getting a place, i hear.
take care, and have a blessed christmas.
amy

I always want to go outside, but I always forget.. My newest thing is sitting in this one seat. It's a very special seat because its the one seat on the entire ferry that has a power outlet. Only one seat in the entier boat is like this --- the only other power outlets can be found at the front of the boat (where your cable is in the middle of the walkway).

Anyway, being a nerd that sits on his laptop the entire time, it is key that I sit in this exact spot. I just discovered this spot about 3 weeks ago...

... this reply was far too long for such a meaningless comment :)

That was one of your best posts ever. Ever.

I totally know what you mean about the lame comments on your favourite posts, and the good ones on the posts you feel are sub-par...

But doesn't that just sum up just about everything you just said and everything else in the world?

Thanks Julie! When I release my 'greatest hits' LJ I'll be sure to include this one just for you. Heck, I'll even write a little story of how we met or something :)

Haha - I actually do read your journal fairly regularly now. Sometimes I'm too lazy to comment though, even if I really like the post.

A story of how we met would be sweet!

P.S. I'm making you a Jens Lekman CD for Christmas. I think you'd really dig him.
