I hate driving around what should be beautiful landscapes and seeing trash blowing in every nook and cranny. What makes up a lot of that trash? Pesky plastic shopping bags. Ubiquitous, unnecessary, resource-using plastic bags. HEB, Wal-Mart, convenience stores, they're everywhere! Buy one item and you get a bag without question. Buy many ( Read more... )

I agree with you plastic bag hate. I seem to remember reading somewhere that plastic bags counted for almost half of the trash in landfills. (Don't remember the exact percentage, but it was a lot.)

I have three cloth shopping bags I try to remember to bring whenever I grocery shop. They also hold more than plastic and the handles are easier on my hands when carrying heavy things like milk.

I'm with Amanda. I have some cloth totes (yea for having teachers who attend conventions in the family) that I try to remember to take with me. I've been really bad for the past year but now that you posted this I'm going to try and remember to take them every time!
