When I was a small child I had this sort of fear, or maybe a reoccurring fantasy. perhaps it was a mild obsession really, with the idea that each morning when i awoke i may actually be a physically different person, a clone perhaps, who had all these memories downloaded into my mind by some malevolent force (god, the devil, aliens). so every morning in effect, i wasn't sure who i was.

i don't know what that says about my psychology. maybe i wanted to be someone else? maybe it simply speaks to how alien i felt in relation to all the people i knew.

memories are an encumbrance no matter their intent
