SHOW I LOVE YOU, ALWAYS BE THIS GOOD.

Everything with Morgana and Merlin was so pitch perfect, with their mutual SUSPICIOUS SHIFTY EYES and all. You could just see those two trying to gauge how much of their cards to put on the table for the other, and the power struggle between them was so great. Everything Merlin/Morgana/Arthur was heartbreaking-despite her hatred for Uther, I really do think that she loves Arthur, and her look of hurt when Merlin finally betrays her just made me want to cry. At the same time, I was worried that Merlin was going to be all Merlin-y and try be all THERE MUST BE ANOTHER WAY and then solve things without ever really getting his hands dirty. It's sort of a darker tone for the show-usually Merlin finds some way out of what should be an impossible situation, but that gets tiring-and is maybe a good turn for a group of characters that could benefit from a few more layers of moral ambiguity.

Also loved: Arthur brushing Gwen's hair off her face, and then Merlin/Arthur's whole, "If I ever need a servant in the next life-" "Don't ask me." AND THEN ARTHUR'S LAUGH.

Except: LETTING THE DRAGON GO, REALLY? What was THAT? DECISION-MAKING FAIL.
