UPDATES ON BOOKE 2 : SNOWE
I have never seen snow. EVER. So, you can imagine how difficult it is to describe something you've never seen before. I ended up using "cold" in every paragraph. Not my fault, see!
Going into details...
♥ We've decided to make the blurb (in italics) for the prologue a Tradition. So, laufei is working on that now. The next texts for the prologue has been written and should be edited by now. Yay!
♥ Non-yay! It's the only part edited and good for posting (sort of). So that's a few thousand more words to edit/write/etc.
♥ Another tradition is the division of Arthur scenes and Merlin scenes. Funny that laufei writes lightly on normal posts but is super great at angst fics or blood or similar ala Neil Gaiman. On the other hand, I write solidly dry on my posts with a bit of satire mixed in, but I do crack fics in the crack-iest sense ala Terry Pratchett. Contrary to our normal writing styles, laufei handles ALL Arthur scenes, especially Arthur musings, while I write all the Merlin scenes, especially Gaius conversations. If and when Merlin does anything angst-y (i.e. tournament fighting scenes of BOOKE 1 : CINDER), I do not have qualms on handing it over to laufei . We, of course, edit them together for flow and accuracy (historical or otherwise).
♥ A bit of a trivia. The main summary for THE BOOKE OF TALES, Possibly with Faeries has already been written last July (2010). Significant changes on the storyline has happened over the course of writing, even to the Bookes that will be released in 2011. For example, BOOKE 3 : SPYN was originally a long and boring chronicle of life at court. Except for the endless string of pr0n, it bored even myself. So we scraped the entire thing and rebuilt it from scratch. The current storyline for BOOKE 3 : SPYN is now in yellow post-its stuck to the wall of my bedroom. This is a valuable technique, which I have learned from Philip Pullman (His Dark Materials). BOOKE 2 : SNOWE should be undergoing the same slaughter of scenes. The reason being that...
♥ ... that BOOKE 2 : SNOWE was written almost as 2 independent fics. We initially didn't have any intention of doing this. The plan was for laufei to take over BOOKE 1 : CINDER, while I get a move on with BOOKE 2 : SNOWE. That didn't happen. We ended up spending a whole lot of time focused on BOOKE 1 : CINDER, with laufei thinking that I've been industriously doing BOOKE 2 : SNOWE all this time. Erm, sorry, but no. BOOKE 2 : SNOWE needs a LOT of work, possibly as much as BOOKE 1 : CINDER. So, we divide the scenes and laufei takes all the Arthur scenes and I take all the Merlin scenes, which actually works to create the feel of two different worlds and some awesome characterizations.
♥ Then, all hell breaks loose. We suddenly find out that not only has Merlin BBC Season 3 been moved from Week 38 to Week 37 (first 2 weeks of September). On top of that, there's a freaking premier happening on September 4-5, 2010. What?! Yeah. So the original date of release for BOOKE 2 : SNOWE has been moved to SEPTEMBER 2-3, 2010.
♥ Now, another surprise, and I think laufei really likes this one --- BOOKE 2 : SNOWE is now action packed! What kind of action??? ALL OF IT! We have magick-fighting scenes, we have nearly satanic rituals, we have flying, we have EVERYTHING! More importantly, we have HOT COPULATING SCENES! YAY! Go slash! No one is more excited than I am to release our first pr0n. Surely, there will be joyous celebration afterwards (i.e. Kambingan, Krus-na-Ligas).
