I saw the trailer for Supremo, it seems like a more serious take. Also, I didn't know Alfred Vargas has played Andres before - in Mario O'Hara's Ang Paglilitis ni Andres Bonifacio! There's Peque Gallaga's Oro Plata Mata, it's about two well-to-do families' fall of grace around WWII. It stars a very young, very handsome Joel Torre ahahaa and Cherie Gil and Ronnie Lazaro. It has some really painful scenes, like the scene with the Japanese soldier and the Quentin Tarantino hybrid ending. It's worth a watch!
Another is Mike de Leon's Bayaning Third World. I have a copy of it but I haven't seen it yet. It also stars Joel Torre!! (ooops my Joel Torre stan is showing ( ... )
