♘ CHARACTER INFORMATION
[ name ] Princess Tomoyo
[ fandom ] Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE
[ canon point ] Post-TRC
[ age ] Around 15

[ personality ]
For a good part of her life, Tomoyo has carried the title of the Tsukiyomi, a regnal title bestowed to the one who holds the wards around the country of Nihon. Not only that but she too has the power to cross dimensions and accurately predict events through dreams. Add that to being the younger sister of the country's Empress, Tomoyo has quite a lot on her shoulders for a young girl of sixteen and has thus developed a mature understanding of everything around her.

But despite that, Tomoyo maintains her warmth and kindness to those around her as she clearly sees the good in everyone. Polite and very compassionate, she easily gets concerned whenever the people she love and care for are in danger even though she knows herself that she might be unable to help them in one way or the other. She regrets much of this inability to provide help in spite of the power she held because of the unspoken contract of those who can see the future. She however will willingly sacrifice whatever she has for their sake.

Always smiling and cheerful, Tomoyo hardly shows much of her other emotions to other people, except to those very close to her. And most of the time even, she would keep things to herself in order not to worry her sister or her bodyguard, an aura of regalness to hide all those. Admittedly, Tomoyo would probably not fare well in a melee battle. But she's not the type who will simply stand down even in the face of pressure or danger. She's very intelligent, intuitive and observant, possessing a sharp wit and sometimes, tongue when provoked.

But while often seemingly mild-mannered on the surface, Tomoyo has her days, possessing a very strange sense of humor, a quirky personality that clearly defines her. She finds amusement even in the most unlikely of situations and constantly teases those who are easy to be teased [i.e. Souma and/or Kendappa, Kurogane].

[ history ]
The younger sister of the Empress Amaterasu, Tomoyo is a princess of the country of Nihon. It can then be surmised that their parents, the former rulers of Nihon, have passed away and Kendappa had ascended the throne. Tomoyo was a yumemi [or a dreamseer], her power coming from the moon, and was born with powerful magic, including that of traveling between dimensions and erecting spiritual barriers. It was this reason that, at such a young age, she was given the regnal title of Tsukiyomi, which is only passed to the one responsible for holding the wards around Shirasagi Castle and Nihon.

When she was young, Tomoyo had a dream predicting the destruction of Suwa, a province in Nihon. Hurrying with her older sister, they found the land devastated with the Lord of Suwa and his wife, the priestess, killed. Only their son was alive but traumatized by the incident. After an alarming attack from the boy towards the Empress herself, Tomoyo was forced to interfere and subdue him calmly. The boy, who had called himself by the name Kurogane, eventually grew up and sworn his loyalty to her. However, Kurogane was one who did not heed her request about killing mercilessly. It was not long before she was forced to send him off to the Dimensional Witch with hopes that the ninja would learn the true meaning of strength. With that, she also cursed him, that whenever he would kill needlessly, his strength would decrease.

And so, Kurogane met the rest of the group [Fye, Syaoran and a cataleptic Sakura] and began their journey across worlds in search of the Princess Sakura's memories. Both Yuuko, who had sent with them Soel [the white Mokona Modoki], and Tomoyo watched over them as they traveled.

Unfortunately, another person in the form of Fei Wong Reed was seeking the feathers as well for his own motives and had sent a few of his associates to retrieve those feathers for him.

Later, upon arriving at the country of Piffle, it was found out that Tomoyo was the one who had warned the President of the Piffle Corporation [aptly named as Tomoyo also] through a dream about four travellers in search of a feather. Her role in the group's journey became bigger as the revelation of Fei Wong Reed regarding her meeting with Kurogane was not by any chance. Hitsuzen once more played a part in it and it was the Dimensional Witch herself who had sent Tomoyo to thwart Fei Wong Reed's plans and save Kurogane first.

A sudden turn of events in Acid Tokyo devastated the group, with the Syaoran who traveled with the group revealed itself to be simply a clone and yet another minion of Few Wong Reed, sent to find the feathers and the real Syaoran appearing in the middle of the battle. Fye's eye was also taken by the clone as replacement for the one that was returned to its original owner. And Fye, rendered weak and almost near death because of that [his eyes were the source of his magic], was turned into a vampire as wished by Kurogane. Exhausted, the group moved on the LeCourt where yet another twisted turn of events happened, this time, with Fye.

Sakura's body and spirit was separated, with the former being sent to Celes and the latter to the dream world. With time running out, the group rushed to Celes in order to save Sakura's body. Unfortunately, Ashura-ou, the person Fye was running away from, was once more awake and waiting for their arrival.

Tomoyo came into play again with the events of Celes and it was revealed that she had given up her dreamseer powers to Ichihara Yuuko as a price so as Syaoran and the group would be able to arrive in Nihon safely after their trip to Celes. She spoke to Kurogane in an almost dream-like state and the male had to sacrifice his arm along with Souhi [his sword] to help Fye escape Celes with them.

[ abilities ]
Tomoyo's quite a powerful individual despite her youthful appearance. As the saying would go, looks can be deceiving and that's just the case with Tomoyo, both in terms of her abilities.

First and foremost, Tomoyo is the Tsukiyomi. As mentioned earlier, Tsukiyomi is a regnal name bestowed to the person who holds the wards around the Shirasagi palace and the country of Nihon. Without Tomoyo, the country would be easily invaded by assassins as well as demons from other lands. She can erect spirit barriers as well as use her spiritual energy as an offensive weapon also. They're like balls of energy that can be shot at any direction she chooses.

Tomoyo is also a dreamseer, able to cross the realm of dreams to communicate with other people [mostly her incarnates and Ichihara Yuuko herself] as well as accurately predict the future. Several times, she manages to use that ability to help the group escape and retrieve Sakura's feathers. Also, since Tomoyo's power is that of the moon, she's able to send people across dimensions just as well. She's even powerful enough to inflict curses on people.

Aside from all of that, Tomoyo is a very intelligent young woman. Intuitive, observant and quite the conversationalist. She's also very kind-hearted, always offering a hand to help those in need.

LET ME JUST POINT OUT THAT SHE SUCKS IN MELEE BATTLE :| So all her powers are defensive and she will only attack when provoked. Actually even when provoked, she won't even fight AT ALL.

♗ SAMPLES
[ first person ]
[ Soft, amused laughter. ]

Sister won't like this at all, leaving so suddenly without so much of a warning. I suppose Souma wouldn't be too pleased also. But well, it's not like they could drag me back, could they? After all, even I'm not certain what world this is~♥

[ She suddenly falls quiet. ] A war, is it? I can't really say much about it when I'm not even sure why... [ Falters. ] Is this really the best solution to this problem?

[ third person ]
Fingers skimmed the thin silk strings of the kin, momentary pausing upon the sounds of muffled footsteps. Chin lifted and a tilt of her head, Tomoyo smiled slightly at her older sister before she resumed her playing, the melody seemingly unbroken despite, eyes closing. Another muffled sound announced the Empress taking a seat beside her on the polished wooden floor.

"What of Kurogane and his companions?"

Another tilt of her head and quirk of her lips as Tomoyo glanced at her sister from the corner of half-closed eyes. Ah, of course her sister cared just as much as she did. She never doubted it but the Amaterasu simply had far too much to ponder and consider, from the well-being of her people to the security of the land, to express her concern.

"Miss Daidouji had informed me of their departure from Piffle," she responded, nonchalance marred with quiet concern. "The Princess of Clow had successfully acquired her feather. However..."

"However?"

Tomoyo said nothing, lips pulling to a thin line. Everything she had foreseen in her dream had come true and while it was unsurprising to her, she had wished that it wouldn't, wished that she had done something else in order to prevent it, But regulations bound her ability to do that, despite her strong desire to help them.

Gaze flickered to the darkening sky, dreams once more flashing across her mind. Events that would soon take place, events that she'd rather not have them go through. But it was inevitable apparently and so was her powerlessness. A quiet sigh left her, eyes closing once more as if making terrible peace to herself.

"...However, Tomoyo?"

The inquiry repeated, title ignored and instead her name was called, and Tomoyo opened her eyes, the shade of violet darker than ever, as she turned to her older sister. Expression wiped clean and clearly hidden behind a mask of reassurance worn along with that smile. She cleared her throat as Tomoyo once more began playing, gaze resting on the instrument on her lap.

"However I'm quite certain that everything will turn out all right."
