I realise I am shallow. I have come to accept this about myself...!

I don't know what was said during a particularly "epic" conversation between Elena and a certain other gentleman (well, no one does, since it occurred off-screen), but I like to think that this was better. ARGH! Do NOT even get me started on S/E and the complete lack of relationship build up... I honestly think it's a big part of why I'm not even a little bit interested in their relationship.

Got so distracted, thinking about the pretty, that I forgot to say, I'm pretty sure the lack of build-up is why I have no S/E interest at all. I mean, I still wouldn't ship them, because DAMON, but maybe I would have been able to tolerate them better if I'd seen more.

It always feels like we (the viewers) are constantly hit over the head with what a perfect couple S/E are and how their love is this epic thing but... I don't feel like we've been shown any evidence of this at all...

The sexual tension between D/E far outweighs the romantic chemistry between S/E and all the initial development of their 'true love' happened off camera... Then, to top it off, the bits we do get are either overwrought and cringe-worthy (ie. the break up scene), or cheesy and cringe-worthy (ie. the ferris wheel scene).

Even with Stefan trapped in the tomb there was nothing... I mean, the only time she really even mentioned him during that period was when she was using him as a lie to steal the moonstone from Bonnie!! And then, BAM, the whole thing was over anyway...

BUT DAMON AND ELENA ON THE OTHER HAND??? There is SO FREAKING MUCH TENSION BETWEEN THEM!!! It's palpable! EVEN KATHERINE CAN SEE IT! Hahahaha!

Oh God, this scene is so amazing. I honestlty just don't even know how to express how amazing it is. I re-watched it last night (trying to get my friend into TVD and was showing her the first couple of eps, heh) and just.... it still leaves me completely speechless. He's so surprised by what she says - the kindness she shows him. Just GUH ♥ Fantastic picspam and lovely icons :)
