Where there is food, there is Dug. Being that he was a dog, the golden retriever's sniffer was so good that he smelled the food before it was even cooked. It was actually the sounds of kitchen in general that attracted the canine, but still. His food bowl and his water were in there!

Around the corner he came, claws scraping against the hard surface in a clickity-clack manner. Following him was a voice, all together simple-sounding as it repeated a consistent litany. "Food, food, food, food," Dug exclaimed, his collar translating his thoughts into human English with bright, coordinating flashes from the red light fixed to the device.

Kate looked up when she heard his nails on the floor. Kate literally scratched her head in disbelief.

"Well hello, boy. Looks like I'm in Kansas or maybe down the rabbit hole?" Instinctively she looked down to see if her clothes had changed and she was in fact now Alice with the blue and white pinafore.

"I'll find you something," Kate laughed, leaning over to pet the dog. "Ummm I'm Kate?"

"Master, I mean Misstress Kate, I am Dug and you are now my new mistress," for the moment, "and I love you!" He closed the distance between them and jumped excitedly in front of her. Tail wagging, he talk, talk, talked. "I have smelled you around but you have not been here as long as Rhiow." The cat he was acquainted with, that is.

Kate had to laugh, how could one not love a dog. They were devoted at least to the one with food. Squatting, gave her better access. Dug, made her think of Walt. Vincent was the last dog she'd been around. Watching Dug made her feel guilty that she hadn't paid more attention to Vincent.

The tips of Kate's fingers ran through his soft fur. After a moment she stood up, eyes taking in the kitchen.

"Dog bowl or dish? What should I feed you?" Kate was laughing and felt totally ridiculus talking to a dog of all things.

The castle was getting 'curiouser and curiouser each minute.'
