Annie was having a harder go of accepting everything happening than she was even ready to admit to herself. Wizards, vampires, and creatures that should not exist on top of apparent captivity? There was just no logical explanation to any of it, and as a student of psychology and a copper, logic was everything.

Since leaving wasn't an option, and holing up in a bedroom for the duration was just ridiculous, Annie's next step was something CID had taught her when a case presented problems: research, research, research. After stopping in the kitchens for a mug of tea and a sandwich, she found a library and settled in with a few volumes.

Before long, those initial few grew in front of her, and soon, she was mired in books covering everything from astrophysics to zoology, and all Annie had were more questions than answers and one hell of a headache.
