Donna was at the end of her rope, and even that was unraveling fast. The events of the past four days were filling her head so full of questions, she felt fit to burst. She wanted to go home, she wanted to see her grandad and mum, and she wanted to have a good cry, but items one and two weren't likely, and as for the third... well, she wasn't going to do that where someone might see her.

She supposed she could return to her suite and hide out, but that'd be, well, hiding out, and no matter what had happened or what would happen in the days (weeks? Months?) to come, she wasn't going to bury her head in the sand. Instead, she walked farther from the castle than she had since that first night. Just as dusk started to descend and the crickets began to tune up for their evening-long concert, she heard a low rush of water she knew wasn't from the slow-moving creek feeding the moat.

Donna headed toward the sound, curiosity getting the better of the good sense telling her to head back before full dark. Of course, nothing awaited her at the castle, so... why not? She only had to walk a few more yards before she found a small garden set near the edge of the forest with a large waterfall tumbling right through the middle. It was tended, but not as well as the gardens closer to the castle, and the overgrown, back-garden feel made her homesickness pang like physical pain - but still, it was peaceful, so Donna sat on a stone bench, folding her legs under her and letting the sound of falling water lull her.
