Not for the first time, Sam wondered if Ruby had something to do with this. It wasn't her style, but then - since when was demon interested in helping a hunter? It could've been a trap, but Lilith had made no moves towards him since ...that day, and it seems as if she was occupied with the seals. Sam then thought of Castiel, and Uriel. Dean had been sent on his trip to the past. But then, they made their regards to the younger Winchester rather clear. And after stopping their last plan...most likely, it wasn't to do with them either.
The helicopter ride was fairly smooth, unlike the rumbling of the Impala he was used to. And not for the first time, he wished to hear the purr of the motor, and the driver's snarky remarks made over the AC/DC playing through the speakers. But the things the brothers had said to one another under Siren's spell had been a tub of salt over some already nasty and fresh wounds. It just wasn't going to happen. As soon as he'd seen the ticket, he'd left his brother behind again - quietly into the night.
The driver had been silent, up until he landed. Sam climbed out and a few seconds later, the man was flying off again. Unbelievable. With one last look over the surroundings, he headed to the great castle ahead. In one hand, the device he had found during the ride. In the other, his cell phone - which, as expected didn't seem to be working. So Sam continued on, in silence. There was no visible life, but he was John Winchester's son through and through. Years of training, despite the fact that it was not what he'd choose to be doing, had not gone wasted on him. His hand was shoved into his jacket pocket, fingers closed upon the weapon as he entered the castle.
Sam made his way into the hall, looking for some hint of just where he was.
And then, moving on, he saw the blood.
