Mason was more than content to keep to himself for the most part. He liked the company he found himself in - what could be better than a non-working holiday with one's best mates, after all? But while the cottage was perfectly comfortable, even Mason began to grow restless (especially as his supplies dwindled, and he didn't see any viable leads hanging around in the woods).
He persuaded (i.e. pestered) Georgie to lay aside her umpteenth novel and accompany him out of the house with him, and after a leisurely stroll through the woods (during which he mostly whined to George about mosquitoes, low-hanging limbs, and rocks), they found themselves standing before an enormous garage and accompanying stable. Mason peered through one of the windows, sighing softly at the sight he beheld.
"Georgie-girl, come look!" he said quietly, beckoning for her to join him. "We need to get in there." He was already going over what he might have brought with him in hopes he could pick the lock to gain entry. Once inside, he guessed there'd be a cabinet with the keys - but even if there wasn't, he'd be glad to give his young friend a lesson in hot-wiring a lovely new motor vehicle. It was about time she learned, anyway. There wouldn't always be convenient corpses who left behind cherry Mustangs for the taking, after all.
