Beckett was still getting used to the idea of being stuck out in the country somewhere. She had lived in and around New York City her entire life and suddenly the hustle and bustle of the city was gone. She decided not to focus so much on that, but instead wanted to find out exactly what was going on with the alleged vampire attacks. It had surprised Beckett that no one had thought of starting a police department before now, but it was definitely needed. She had spent a few days wandering around the grounds and village looking for a place that would make a good precinct office.
What she found was a sizeable building near the west end of the village. It had two floors and was roughly five thousand square feet. It also looked to be pretty much abandoned, but clean and ready for tenants. Beckett wasn't exactly sure about any kind of protocol with setting up shop, but that was one of the questions she wanted to ask. So, she put out a call and hoped people would start showing up around 2:00.
