I am so tired right now I can barely think, but let me get back to you tomorrow? I drive a whole busload of 'em, and got two of my own, so I should know at least a little something.
That was the age of the girls I was working with in sparks and brownies a few years ago. At that age, they're still learning to read - some will be able to read picture books, some may be thinking of moving up to very short chapter books without pictures or with fewer illustrations, not on every page. School would be one of the biggest parts of their lives, how they get along with their teachers, whether or not they're being bullied, etc. If they have a pet, that's a big deal. Parents are still very much their gods - they may rebel against their parents authority, but those rebellious tantrums do not at that stage come to anything but a time out in the corner. Their parents are still bigger and stronger than them, and they cannot hope to overcome an adult in a physical confrontation, so that's out. Video games would be big with most kids, especially a few years into the future. Throwing in my quick thoughts! Depending on personality, children this age can be quite loud and impulsive. Children are generally a little more "me" centered than adults, since they haven't fully developed "taking another person's POV
