I wanted to give the impression of someone facing huge odds fearlessly without having to draw those odds, but I don't think I made the canvas tall enough.
Yes,
The figure (pose, attire, & textures) invokes strong sense of defiance and fearlessness.
But...
The background loses me. Is it a wall she is facing? Or is she overlooking a clouded horizon? For some reason (perhaps the lettering on her jacket or caption), I expect to see a vague city-scape or cubicle wasteland hinted at in the background textures.
Just my 2 cents. (disclaimer: It’s probably not a wide idea to take art commentary from an engineer)
