Amazing!

Good for you, Rachel!! You've been doing the "I don't want to complain, buuuuut..." routine about your job for AGES now! I'm glad that you're finally in a position to do what you actually WANT to do!--something more mentally stimulating.

And Ramiro and I cannot WAIT to see what you have in store comics-wise!

Looking forward to your new site on March 9th! ;)

Crazy/Brilliant? Don't those usually go hand-in-hand? I can't comment on the brilliant end of the spectrum, but I've learned the hard way about the crazy part: Staying safe-but-stagnant is a really bad career move. :/

Besides. Now we all get more comics. I call that a win-win! :)

Ah, welcome to my world. I have made similar moves a number of times through my career for exactly those reasons--stagnating skillset and the desire for a break to get ahead on some creative work.

My experience is that it's natural to grow out of your job in the development world, and usually you can only find opportunities for growth by looking outside of your current company. Dev jobs usually last about 2 years, give or take.

Good luck!
