This sounds like one that might be pretty popular with the Twilight-loving crowd. I'm reading Shiver right now--I am liking the hero of the book for the same reasons you give--he's not the stoic, brooding Edward. Instead, he has lots of angsty feelings. He describes himself as emo! Gotta love that.

Sounds like the serial killer mystery of the book is an added plus.

(am having trouble forming coherent sentences tonight, but I wanted to comment. I always enjoy reading your reviews.)

Thanks! Other comes out in July and I'm going to push it at my library with the paranormal romance lovers. I liked it a lot more than Twilight, but then, I liked nearly every other teen paranormal romance more than Twilight, except maybe Evermore. This was an unexpectedly fun book (not for your crowd though, because of the sex scene). The serial killer mystery gives it more range, too, so I think a teen who isn't that into romance could still get into this book.

I liked Shiver well enough, mostly because the romance developed semi-slowly and both characters had personality. I liked Sam a lot for the same reasons. He's more like a real person, he's responsible, and he doesn't treat Grace like crap.
