*sings* Tomato sauce goes great with chow mein...

Well, I've been back in Buffalo almost a full week now, and I am STILL recovering from my NYC weekend! Honestly, it has got to be one of the best weekends of my life. :D
* Finally got to attend a live performance of Mamma Mia! on Broadway. Carolee Carmello (Donna) is AMAZING. Definitely having a love affair with her hair, let alone that voice! She was an absolute sweetie pie to us when we stagedoored, as were the members of the cast that came out. Pearce Bunting (Bill) is another fab one, a bit wild - Lyndsey & I each got a huge hug from him. :D

*For dinner, Lyndsey & I went nextdoor to Ellen's Stardust Diner. The waiters sing karaoke & snatched Lyndsey's shades. Fun times.

*After dinner and a quick walk to the New York Public Library, we attended the evening showing of Boeing Boeing. Christine Baranski, FTW! One of the most hysterical things I've ever seen, let alone seen live. *sigh* They even played oldies songs in French, man. ;) Of course, we stagedoored for CJB! She was as adorable as I'd hoped she'd be. I was completely starstruck, but she was as kind as could be. Plus, she had on the cutest pair of pink shoes. ;)

As you can see, Saturday was an amazing whirlwind adventure. Yet, then came Sunday!

*After roughly 3 hours of sleep, we headed back to Broadway to be first in line for Gypsy student rush tickets. The Broadway Cares flea market was taking place on the same street as the St. James Theatre, which was a pleasant surprise. Ended up buying an orange beaded bracelet, an orange/pink Mamma Mia! t-shirt (donated by the former Sophie), a Wicked t-shirt, and a Mamma Mia! beach mat all for just $33. WIN. Who did we manage to walk past at said street flea market? Bebe Neuwirth! Oh, and Tony Roberts as well. Saddened I missed the cast of [Title of Show] though...

* Then came the afternoon performance of Gypsy! OMG. OMG. OMG. Lyndsey made sure that I scored seat 105 (front row, center) which led to all sorts of epicness. Why, you ask? BECAUSE I MADE EYE CONTACT MULTIPLE TIMES WITH PATTI LUPONE. I'm not talking general area either. I'm talking ME.

Apparently she chooses between seats 105 and 106 during every performance and makes that person her "orchestra conductor" to which Rose has to address throughout the show. Walks to end of stage, bends down slightly, points at you, looks you square in the eye and delivers her lines. *blushes again just thinking about it* As soon as the middle-aged woman sat next to me in seat 106 before the show, Lyndsey leans over and says, "Oh, she's so choosing you." Magical experience, folks. (The seat also allowed for plenty of eye contact with various other members of the cast.)

She recognized Lyndsey (this was her 15th time) sitting beside me, so during the last addressing of the "orchestra conductor" - to which she has to angrily yell & give a look of death - she turns to Lyndsey and does it! LMAO. Sadly, with the street blocked off due to the flea market, Patti didn't sign after the show. I can't blame her though! Definitely going back again ASAP.

Patti did have a flub though! Her voice broke during the word "two" while singing "Have an Eggroll, Mr. Goldstone". She immediately saved herself, complete with a chuckle from Patti herself, Boyd Gaines, and the audience. FABOO.

So, yes, I have officially been LuPWNed, baby.

* Then I return to find that not even 24 hours after leaving the city, Christine Baranski, Helen Mirren, Martha Stewart, and Jane Fonda all attended the opening night of the NY Metropolitan Opera. Why me?!

In other news - a big thank you to all of my chums for wishing my mother well! It must've worked because THE TESTS CAME BACK NEGATIVE! *parties yet again* Her doctor told her that she will be needing kidney dialysis soon, but I can work with that. :)

Other than that, life has been practically nothing but homework & work. Meh. Oh, and season premieres, which make things better.

DH season premiere in less than 2 hours! YAYZ.

XO
