Tuesday Dinner

May 09, 2012 16:00

It has been a while since we treated ourselves to a decent tuesday dinner. We have so many projects going on right now, it's quite overwhelming. But, we managed to pull it together. No guests, just the three of us which is just fine with me.

Mmm I love pie, and yours looks so good! Makes me want to make one :]. I always use a flaky crust recipe from Sur La Table, it's perfect every time. But I want to try yours-- is this it?:

It looks to be, I will have to check to make sure. I think the key is a pastry mixer blender http://www.bing.com/shopping/cuisipro-pastry-blender/p/1918C276E73321522D76?q=pastry+mixer&lpq=pastry%20mixer&FORM=HURE

I think this makes all the difference!

I wish I could hug you right now. What a sweet post! My mom always made (and continues to make) every meal special. She decorates the table, uses her best dishes and glasses...and that's how it should be! Fancy meals for the family are the best.

P.S. That pie looks awesome!

thanks - I think Linc would enjoy a fancy mac-n-cheese! We actually made him shrimp fried rice b/c he hates asparagus. I always tell him he will some day appreciate our efforts, but maybe not today.

oh man I was always annoyed because my mom would make us sit and eat heart shaped pancakes with strawberries on valentines day, green food on st.patty's day, etc.....put when I think back to it I secretly LOVED it.

Now for meals at her house she does these things and I think since I'm an adult now and I know the effort it takes, I totally appreciate her 1,000 percent more!

That looks beautiful Katie! So yummy all around.
P.S. Sean's parents got us the cello years ago for Christmas-I played in on the album one year. Sean has it out to try and keep up on using it. But, yes, I wish I could pick up stuff like he does! Sheesh. :)

Well, it's a beautiful piece of art as well! I always think that instruments are great to have around.
