I wish I could sleep! Normally I wake up between 5:30 and 6:30. This morning was the first time in forever that I actually slept almost until 8. During the days, I don't feel sleepy, but I also have no energy. And it's one of those things I never understood until I started to experience it for myself.
It's funny how nature arranges things so that by the time it's time for us to give birth we don't freaking care how much labor's going to hurt we WANT IT NOW PLEASE GET IT OVER WITH. >.>
That pretty much sums up how I'm feeling! Right now, it's kind of like, "I'll gladly take a day full of pain in order to just have my body back! Whenever you want, I'm ready!"
My mom and sister both were blessed with relatively short labors, so I'm praying I receive the same, but knowing my luck, I'll be the one in labor for 30+ hours and end up needing a c-section. Alas. All that matters is that the little peanut makes it out safe and sound. :)
Gosh, so soon already? It seems like just a month or two ago that you announced that you guys were expecting. Exciting!
Also, protip with the swelling ankles: get some socks, and put rice in them. Sew them up, and microwave them for ~30 seconds to a minute, until their hot. They provide moist heat, and will feel AMAZING draped across your aching and swollen ankles. I use the same thing on my joints for the winter-time aches and it's so, so good.
Yeah, we didn't say anything for quite some time, though I think I posted about it back in April? Thereabouts? Time's been flying, that's for sure!
And thanks for the heads up on the swelling thing! I actually have a corncob heating pad thing that's meant to go in the microwave, I never really thought about using it. I'll probably add that to my night time regimen and see if it helps. The only up side is that I know that after the baby's here, the swelling should go away for the most part. At this point, my body has (if I recall correctly) 50% more blood volume! No wonder it pools in my feet. Yikes!
