Hi hi! I'm so looking forward to play some epic plots against Kira ♥
Near is hoping that Light doesn't know him, but he can't determine such a thing yet. In manga, Light didn't really change much from when he was 18 to when he was 23, so I doubt that Near can guess his age just by looking at him, in case they ever meet.

Sadly, that wouldn't be enough. For all Near knows, Light could be feigning ignorance to take him off guard. Though that would also imply that Light still came from an earlier timeline than Near and might not know his real name-- Near believes that post-series Light wouldn't hide himself from him.
