Characters Captain Ganymede and his guests
Place: The Jupiter, a restaurant specializing in Grecian cuisine. Sample menus found
here.
Time: Month 2, Day 16
Summary: A dinner party hosted by the captain for the passengers to enjoy.
DETAILS: THE CAPTAIN HAS ENDED THE PARTY EARLY. FOR FURTHER DETAILS, PLEASE SEE
THIS POST.
Two very large robotic bouncers will be letting passengers into the restaurant one at a time in the order stated on the guest list. The main hall of the
very finely decorated dining facility has been cleared out to make space for one very long table. The captain will be seated at the end farthest from the door; characters will be seated by the robotic wait staff, starting at the end closest to the door.
This means that the people at the beginning of the guest list will be seated the farthest away from Ganymede, and the people at the end will be seated the closest. ;D They can order via the waiter bots as soon as they're seated, but their only chance to speak to the captain when he'll actually be listening is as they come in and before they order. Once they have their food, the captain's attention will waver and it's likely that he won't reply to their comment at all! Earlier passengers may want to warn the people coming in after them about this little detail, provided they notice it.
Now, as a reminder, not everyone will be able to post right away; there will be some waiting involved and in light of all the time zone differences, I'm going to leave this log open and available until Tuesday as long as necessary! :D Because of this, I might not be online to strike out names right as comments are made, so I encourage everyone to check the comments proper to see who has had their turn.

And just to let you know, commenting will be in the third person log style, the captain's comments included! There is no length minimum or limit, so feel free to make your comments as long or short as you'd like. Characters can also comment to one another's threads, before or after the captain has replied, but the captain will only be replying once.
If the captain's reaction to any given comment is severe enough to warrant stopping the party altogether or something equally serious, I will add an amendment to the top of this page indicating that the log has come to an abrupt stop. I apologize to anyone who may lose their turn should this kind of reaction occur, but this event is very much driven by what characters say and do, so consequences may very well be felt!

Tap. Tap. Tap. Taptap. Tap tap tap taptap.
Tap.
That was the problem with always being the most punctual one. Everyone else was always late. Ganymede would have loved to have started the festivities already, or just had a little company. It was dreadfully dull watching his gloved fingers tap against the smooth wood of the table.
Not a fabrication or a replicated table, either. Solid, polished, genuine black walnut with a beautiful sleek finish and metal fittings. Handcrafted back on Old Terra during the ship's construction, paid for by the home branch of this lovely restaurant. Nothing less than top-of-the line for this ship. He felt very proud of the part he'd played in getting her off the ground, literally. Why, if it hadn't been for him, they wouldn't be here now. He'd insisted on it. Nothing could possibly go wrong!
Nothing at all. He hadn't gotten any reports to that effect yet, despite the boy's best efforts to cause trouble when there wasn't trouble to begin with. Too eager, much too eager. You couldn't go looking for trouble. If he would just sit back and let his pop handle everything, this could all go smoothly. Ganymede had been against bringing the boy along, but oh, the higher ups just had to insist. Extra security, they said. Extra security!
Ganymede himself was more than enough. Always had been always would be. No stuffed suits were going to tell him when he was past his prime--
Taptaptaptap tap TAP. Hah! He could tap out the tune to his favorite song. The pitch would be more accurate if he could take off his suit, but he had a niggling feeling that he needed to keep it on. Safer that way.
Safer from what? Oh right, from--
His first guest was starting to arrive! Finally.
