The Planet as a whole screamed in terror, the backlash of the negative energy flowed through the Lifestream and struck Aerith like a physical blow. Her mind snapped at the sounds of the screams, and she became a conduit for the Planet. The result was that the Lifestream itself tore through Midgar, destroying the Shin-Ra headquarters and dropping the plate. There was no warning, no time to evacuate, and the entire city was leveled in an instant. When the dust cleared, only Aerith walked out of the rubble, branded and hopeless, only knowing that her one weapon left to her that could save the planet completely was lost in a far-off jungle beyond her reach. She knew that, but not how much time she had left to save her world. So she walked the earth, drawn to the whispers of Holy that were too faint to hear, the screams of the Lifestream ringing in her ears. As the days draw closer to Gaia's destruction, they only grew louder, driving her forward in a last desperate break for a salvation that might never come.
And still she walked.
