In regards to your question before I was disconnected, my own systems have had no adverse effect to my sphere or any other piece of mechanical equipment on this ship.

That's good to know, but unfortunately I don't think that's an option before. That kind of uplink would create an unusual amount of traffic on the network, which we know for sure the captain can detect. He may be on the lookout now, so that's too much of a risk.

It's not as if I don't know the meaning of discretion....

In any case, have you made any progress in deciding what you plan to do between the passengers you evacuated and those of us on board currently?

It may be possible to board the ship and re-route bridge control to another terminal, but that would involve personnel being on the ship itself. The captain has the ship's defenses at his disposal, so while he has control of those there isn't any way for us to board. You would have to disable those systems yourself, or coerce the captain into doing so.

Another one of these?

Really, what are you looking for? I believe several of us have made it quite clear that we're here.

I'm aware that you're present, young man. This is meant as an information exchange, possibly the last one I can provide.

Commander?

This is Lucrezia Noin, known as Fire from the Preventers.

Acknowledged.

Do you have any information you need to pass on?

Nothing that hasn't been already stated.

What information do you have to share?

The most relevant would be concerning the ship's defensive systems. We can board if two key functions are disabled: ship's shields and the docking bay lockdowns. Both can be initiated by the bridge at any time, which means the moment we approach the captain can close off the ship. These systems would have to be disabled, turned off, or the captain prevented from using them if we're to get on the ship.

Commander, this is Uchiha Sasuke. Are there questions... that are still unanswered by us that you would like answered, sir? We were cut off last time, but...

Eos did happen in one of the timeperiods. We... we crashed there. The Captain didn't survive the crash.

As for... you not being safe, that was more wondering what made you worry, sir.

Do you have any... insight as to what would best distract the Captain, or way that... would best detain him?

Acknowledged.

I may have to take most of what you're saying on faith, but at this point belief will have to be secondary to everything else.

To distract him...you'll need to know more about the way he thinks to do that. He's never been a fan of disrespect, so outright defiance is exactly the kind of thing that will cause him to fight and act more cautious. That's not what we need.

Then flattery? He is your father. What would you... suggest?

[ Fuuuuuuuuuuuck this blush. ]

...flattery would be best. He's always been very proud of his accomplishments. Proud of the loyalty every crew and unit has shown him. Given half the chance, he'd tell you the story behind every one of his decorations and recognitions.

That's always been well and good; he deserves it. He just doesn't like to give up that spotlight.

It's me again.

Is there anything on this ship we can sabotage? If we can stop it, or at least slow it down... We might avoid the black hole.

Acknowledged.

Unfortunately, no. The ship was designed with separate, independent systems with the prevention of sabotaged specifically in mind. During its construction there had been an increase in terrorist and extremist group activity, so it was built with that in mind.

Then... Is there something to talk to the Captain about that won't result in reprisals? Anything you can think of. I don't think... Many people have had success talking to him.

He doesn't respond well to criticism, so that doesn't surprise me. Reason doesn't have much place either, but...he enjoys respect. He's a very proud man.
