No! What he has done is... Unforgivable. But if you kill him... Nothing will change. Do you care more about vengeance, then the people you're supposed to protect? Your friends... They died to try and save us. Will you spit on their memory and say 'No, killing him is more important'?

You've won. Are you going... To be like him? Or a true hero?

This won't be justice.

[Frowns. Ever so deeply, because she never thought she'd be back here after all that's happened in her home. She's not exactly pleased to be back, especially since she's come back to this displeasing scene.]

Commander, I suggest you stop all of this at once. It's not ethical. It's not needed. What will the sacrifice of one life be for all those that have already died? Do you truly believe that killing him will bring everyone else back?

[Quietly:] What is dead cannot return to the way they were before. They can only move on.

[And back to her sharp tone.] Instead of trying to avenge those who will not be around to see you murder your own father, work to save all those who are still alive, and still waiting for your help. They need to return. They have to return home.

... I will not lie. Killing him will only make yourself the same as the father you despise so much. [Listen to the girl. She knows a lot about hating parents.] Would you rather be remembered as the hero, who saved those his father could not, or the "son who followed in ( ... )

[If Ryuuko was surprised to see Ametatsu again while on the ship, she hid it well. If she was surprised to hear Ametatsu speak against following in one's parent's footsteps, she would have to have been oblivious for a good many years.]

Touchy subject, Ametatsu?

To put it very mildly.

No! Stop it, you can't!

[That's Donna's instinctual, horrified reaction to seeing what Orion's about to do. After a moment though, she tries to gather her thoughts and make him see sense, talking rapidly in an attempt to get through.]

I know you're angry! I know that you want to make him pay for what he did, but we do too, and this isn't the right way!

[She takes a deep breath, and though her voice is still raised, it's less angry than before.] If you kill him, how will the rest of us ever get home? How are we gonna get away from the black hole? How are you going to?

We need him. You can make him stop this, I know you can, but you can't kill him.

Please.

[encouragingly] That's it, Donna. Keep believing in him!

[ Surprisingly, Emil's taking being teleported back into the situation quite well. Blinking, he looks around and notices the scene. After a moment's shock, he swallows and tries to compose himself. He remembered Orion, remembered how he had helped them. ]

I ... I remember you. You were a good man. You'll do the right thing. I believe in you.

[This was something he hadn't expected, and he had to double-take when he heard Emil's voice come over the Sphere network.]

[He shakes his head in disbelief -- his hair is much shorter than the last time Emil saw him -- and glances at the scene with Orion and the Captain briefly before looking back again.]

I-- yeah, for the moment. What are you doing back here?

[Hey, guess who's finally talking? She sounds displeased, and that makes sense. After all, this kind of situation...seeking revenge never solved a damn thing, did it? It's a stupid thing, it's pointless, it's worthless, it twists you out of shape and makes you into a person you'll regret being later on. The "Terror of Death" would know, wouldn't she? More than that...wasn't Ganymede killed when the cycle restarted? She seems to remember something like that.

So, she speaks.]

Killing him, getting revenge - it isn't going to solve a damn thing, Orion. There's got to be another way!

Killing people doesn't really solve anything.

[She knows how it is to die.]

And killing the captain only seems to restart things if I remember right.
