Interview for Womenverse
We had to interview one of our favorite characters, so I decided to do the Proust Questionnaire (idea borrowed from catko) with Annie Wilkes from Misery. Not sure how many of these answers are in character for her, but I did the best I could. I think Annie is a funny character, so I guess I was just trying to have fun with her. :P
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Curling up on the couch with the latest Paul Sheldon novel.
What is your greatest fear?
Something happening to my favorite author.
Which living person do you most admire?
Paul Sheldon!
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I can be a bit moody at times. It makes me kinda hard to be around, I guess.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Dishonesty. There's nothing worse than a lying old dirty birdie.
What is your most treasured possession?
Why, my Paul Sheldon collection, of course. I have all of his books. I'm always first in line to get them; I've never missed one yet.
What is your current state of mind?
Right now I'm feeling pretty good. Not oogy at all!
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Cockadoodie, dirty birdie.
Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
Misery Chastain. She's just such a great and inspiring character...I could go on about her for hours!
Who are your favorite writers?
Well isn't this a silly question! Paul Sheldon, of course. He's the greatest author of all time...
What is it you most dislike?
I'm not a fan of people who cheat with their stories or who swear...there's just no nobility in those kinds of things!
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would try to control my temper more.
What natural talent would you like to be gifted with?
I would love to be able to write.
If you could choose what to come back as, what would it be?
My sow, Misery. She seems to have a pretty happy, carefree life!
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Some of my more oogie moods can get pretty bad...my thinking gets muddled and it's hard to clear it.
What is your favorite occupation?
Being a nurse.

Nobility, kindness.
