Ottawa restaurants

ALSO: I'm looking for restaurant suggestions for when MHB visits. I'm aiming for something not ridiculously expensive, but nice. Not overly fancy. Does anyone have any ideas?

If you're open to east Asian cuisine, Vietnamese specifically, Vietnam Palace on Somerset might be one to consider. It's certainly more upscale than the typical restaurant in Chinatown, but not at all expensive.

One of those cute little restaurants in Westboro? I've heard decent things about The Village Cafe; price is average but not cheap...

Azteca in the market. Under $20 usually, even inc. a glass of wine. Took mum there for mother's day--fabulous, intricate food, excellent atmosphere, exceptional service... absolutely one of the best restaurants I've had the pleasure of being to. Lunch is fantastic, not crowded at all, and a very exotic atmosphere without being alien.

PS. Can I meet MHB when he's here? Pwetty Pwetty Pweeeeeeeeeeze?

Of course! I am thinking of having some sort of shindig, possibly potluck, or maybe just a collective bar visit or something...

I know... I have 1/2 seminars left, still 8 essays, and 5 exams in the next 3 weeks. My soul is in all kinds of pain...

Man, it's been forever since I've eaten out somewhere truly nice in Ottawa, so I'd be no good for suggestions. But I really want to meet MHB too! When is he here until?
