No, seriously. My hair came out a really dark shade of red after a recent dye-job, so I went home and washed it with dish detergent & baking soda. It faded, but now my hair is a tad dry. Thanks, love.

Make sure you leave it in for at least a half-hour. If you dick around with it for a few minutes, it'll only make you regret wasting your time. And use the 'real' kind, not the "90% mayonnaise flavored!" kind. If you use 100 different smoothing products like I do, use less than you usually do because it'll look... wrong, but your hair is naturally straight (I'm guessing) so it really shouldn't be a problem.
