Gah... in the opening here you yank away the misty veil of your thoughts. We live in an age in which DVD commentaries reveal those much-beloved actors to be far less intelligent than ourselves, reveal the grand Battle of Sparta as nothing more than a CGI wire-frame build-up constructed by a jowly geek wearing a South Park baseball cap. Penn and Teller regularly reveal the mechanics behind the illusion. And, ultimately, it's sometimes better not to expose the meta-writing. If people think you intuitive, let them play with that. F'God's sake
( ... )
Does it truly bother you that I've yanked away the veil? Though I was abrasive with my self-commentary, I was hardly surmising that my musings are unworthy of toying with or vivisecting ... nor was there denial of my intuitive foundation. One can, I would presume, be simultaneously forthright and elusive; share details, but still draw a blurry picture.
For years I have allowed people to play with roles and the veils. I'd suspect they still would continue to do so -- and for justifiable reason. But there was a point to prefacing this soliloquy with stripping of (my) roles, yes? There was a point; a semblance of irony.
As to the rest, I hardly blame you for being resentful about your own slippery unloading of neurosis in the past, but I'm dubious about aligning your mysterious past actions with the pathological abusiveness described upthread. I'm positive I'm not impervious to "caricaturizing" people either -- I suppose it must be dealt with on a sliding scale. Or with a light dimmer. Whichever is more appropriate.
